The Trouble With Friends by Kelly Miller. ★★★★☆

Image
When Netherfield Park is let at last, all Meryton is excited by the prospect of wealthy batchelors.   Charles Bingley, Simon Lockhart and Fitzwilliam Darcy are soon making themselves known to the neighbourhood.  Bingley and Lockhart are handsome and amiable, whilst Darcy projects haughtiness.  Simon meets Elizabeth Bennet when he gets a concussion, falling off his horse. She rescues him and earns his undying regard. Unfortunately, the return of the beautiful Jane Bennet, turns his head and Bingley’s. Elizabeth is quite happy to settle for friendship. However, Darcy is horrified at such inconstancy (whilst becoming increasingly smitten). It takes quite a while for the twisting tendrils of attraction and love to be untangled. Delightful additions include the presence of Georgiana Darcy at Netherfield, Mary Bennet’s growing confidence in her own appearance and the delightful Robbie, the Cocker spaniel. The Darcy Secret: A Pride and Prejudice Variation by Kelly Miller. ★★★★★

After misunderstandings and tribulations, Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy are betrothed. Just when felicity is assured, Darcy is informed of madness running through the Darcy line. Elizabeth must be informed before marriage but Darcy is terrified that she will break off the engagement. Fortunately, Elizabeth is devoted to Darcy, so the wedding goes ahead. After the honeymoon, a letter arrives which casts a shadow on Georgiana Darcy’s character and even her sanity. This is an excellent romantic, suspense novel.   Little snippets of Georgiana’s odd behaviour fuel our suspicions. It feels like waves upon the shore. Suspicion rises, but then diminishes, only to rise again. Excellently written and gripping. I received a free copy of this book via Booksirens and am voluntarily leaving a review. Accusing Mr. Darcy by Kelly Miller ★★★★★

A Regency serial killer Excellent book combining a good depiction of ODC, with a murder mystery. Interesting changes to the background. No Bennett girls after Lizzy and Mrs Bennett died. I heartily recommend this. Amazon Amazon reviews
