From the Ashes of June by Mel Stone ★★★★☆

Excellent novella, set against the backdrop of London, during the sudden, shocking Gordon Riots in June 1790.

The female characters are strong throughout, facing imminent childbirth, while mobs roam the streets looting and burning.

Assistance in the shape of Nathaniel Woods appears repeatedly, seemingly just when he is needed!

This is a fast-paced combination of history, action, terror and romance.
I was delighted with this book.
