Mistaken Masquerade by Abbey North. ★★★☆☆

Frustrated that George Wickham is easily distracted by an heiress, Lydia Bennet convinces him that her meagre £1000 dowry is actually £10,000.

George responds by arranging a midnight assignation, at the Netherfield maskerade ball, intending compromise and profitable marriage.

When his note to Lydia is mistakenly given to Elizabeth Bennet, she decides to confront Wickham.

Fitzwilliam Darcy is infatuated with Elizabeth but views her as totally unsuitable to be his wife.

When Darcy learns of the assignation, he hides in the library to save Elizabeth from making a huge mistake with Wickham.

But who is going to save Elizabeth and Darcy from each other?

Very little story, no real romance and rather average sex.

Good to see Wickham get his comeuppance.

This is a short story, only 44 pages long and is rather overpriced at £3.30.

If you have Kindle Unlimited, it is worth a look for a quick read.
