Fitzwilliam Darcy Master Spy by Jennifer Joy ★★★★★
When we first meet Fitzwilliam Darcy, he is on a mission and seems part spy, part ninja. His stealthy departure is hindered by a stranded cat. The flea bitten beast attaches itself to his person, both literally and figuratively. A much needed (and perilous bath) reveals a handsome, single minded and imperious feline. Darcy and his cousin are Agents of the Crown, sworn to protect King and Country, in a time of war. Their dedication has led them to keep a distance from family and foreswear marriage, due to the very real threats of Napoleon and his sympathisers. A mission to protect a valuable cryptographer and his family, means exposure to the lovely and brilliant Elizabeth Bennet. Lizzy finds that her cosy family life is a web of secrets. The reality only glimpsed, through smoke and mirrors. Can she trust Darcy and will he return her burgeoning affections? This is a great combination of mystery, betrayal, excitement and romance. Really enjoyable characters ...
